Uninterruptable Power Supply serves mainly in 2 areas; to provide temporary power to your mission critical devices and servers during a power outage, and to provide conditioning of electric current supply to these devices. UPS usually provides not more than 30 minutes worth of backup power supply, providing enough time for you to reset your circuit breaker ( if there is a power trip ), or allowing you to perform a graceful shutdown of your servers. The batteries in the UPS need to be replaced by a qualified UPS engineer, preferably once a year. Any self attempt to replace the battery is not recommended as it may damage the device or the UPS itself, and may cause injury if not careful. 7-Network recommends APC UPS, and provide value adds such as consulting services, installation of the UPS and maintenance.
